Last year I spent a little time working with Bones in Motion (BiM), an Austin-based technology start-up helping them fine-tune the marketing strategy of their first product, BiMActive.
Simply put, BiMActive turns your cell phone into a GPS-enabled high-tech pedometer. But BimActive is more than just a pimped-out pedometer. By syncing one’s cell phone with a satellite, BiMActive records distance, speed, pace, location, elevation, and calories burned while you run, cycle, hike, or whatever. All this information is accessible on one’s cell phone or online in one’s personal training journal. Cool stuff, eh?
Andy Graham and Jon Werner of BiM have spent the better part of the past three years to bring this remarkable product to market. Congratulations fellas … your idea is now reality.
For more on BiMActive, stream their demo from the recently held DEMOconference.
Wow! Thanks for sharing this innovative solution.
I am forwarding this posting to buddies in Des Moines' running club. I would think they would be eager to learn more!

Finally something useful to do with my mobile phone. Now if only I had time to exercise! This looks like a seriously useful innovation on a variety of fronts -- I expect many personal trainers will start to bundle this in with their services -- but I expect this would also appeal to travellers (especially as the carrier base expands) or even to families who like to keep tabs on their kids. Great stuff!

Great idea and wonderful product, but perhaps I've spent too much time in the gay subculture as all I can think of when I see this product's name is gay online dating speak for "Bi Male, Active".
