Yes … I think Pepsi can be remarkable.
Exhibit (A): Pepsi Holiday Spice
Looks like I need to put my mouth where my blog is and sample this limited-edition ginger and cinnamon spiced Pepsi. More to come ...
As a marketingologist with the Brand Autopsy Marketing Practice, I give companies “Second Opinions” about the business and marketing activities they are currently doing or considering doing.
Eeshk. Save your money and stear clear of Holiday Spice. It is by far the most disgusting thing to ever touch these lips.
But you have to give props to Pepsi for being able to pull out the old logo for use here. It does look very good, and by using the old logo, if others think Holiday Spice is horrible, it gets stuck to the old logo and Pepsi still remains king (ok, prince) of cola.

Well ... I gotta come clean here. I am intrigued by this cinnamon and ginger spiced cola because I enjoy so many spiced Belgian ales and spiced experimental beers made by niche breweries across the world.
Many folks scoff at the idea of drinking a beer that has been spiced with coriander, ginger, cardamom, and pine needles (yes, pine needles). But I applaud the gumption and many times the taste. Probably the most successful spiced beer in the US comes from Anchor Brewing and their Our Special Ale. Anchor’s OSA is a holiday-time only release and the beer is brewed cadre of natural spices and additives.
My expectations are low for the Pepsi Holiday Spice but I am interested to see how they pull it off taste-wise and to see how they price this special offering.
I too enjoy seeing the ‘authentic’ Pepsi logo … it plays well on the can.

Yeah, the package design is striking and the stretched oval does give it a Euro-beverage look -- ala heineken, amstel, etc... I'll definetly pick up a can to taste-test.

Katherine ... would Vanilla Holiday Spice Coca-Cola been more to your liking?

I love Holiday Spice Pepsi and I hope it re-appears for 2006. I am trying to locate some of it!
