The i-ronic thing to me is that the author of the graffiti is pointing out users of iPods want attention. The graffiti-er is looking for that same attention in the form of “read my clever grafitti message.”

Paul ... thanks for adding your perspective to Brand Autopsy. I've always valued your input.
Since the scribbler didn't leave a tag behind, maybe s/he doesn't crave the personal attention. Instead, s/he is craving attention for the message, not the person. Dig?
Paul, don't be shy ... visit Brand Autopsy more often.

Maybe the scribbler works for Apple and wants to create some buzz about the ads. It worked.

Thanks for making me feel welcome, I'm going to have to add Brand Autopsy to my web bookmarks.
While the scribbler IS anonymous s/he, no doubt, shared with their friends. Then the Village Voice does a story. THEN, to top it all off, they received additional coverage on the infamous Brand Autopsy site.
Anonymous? Yes. But not an unknown.

By the way... I think it was ROB, in the previous post, who did the graffiti. Why is he so quick to say 'maybe Apple did it?" Interesting.

If I had seen those signs without your post below, I would have thought the vandal to be an Apple fan, or at least an aspirational fan eg. I need an iPod (I know how he feels), or a comment on their size and convenience (i-nvisible). But maybe that's just the point of view of an Apple addict.
Then I read the article (sorry), and it soesn't sound like anybody was trying to make any kind of serious comment at all. It sounds like boredom, i-nebriation or possibly a bored, inebriated rennaissance poet type of person with little income, just a wanderin' past with little else to do.
Ok, enough. I've both under and overthought this.

what does "i" in ipod stands for and what does "pod" means?
Posted by: TedFed | September 01, 2007 at 10:56 AM
the "i" represents one's self (listening to music in this case). this is an subliminal message aimed at taking something universal and bonding, and twisting it into something individual and separating. this is the same reason why we see "my" yahoo, "my" space, "my" 106.7 FM, or "you" tube etc. these are subliminal warfare tactics that the negative elite put in place into our society. notice how instead of using "we", "our", and "us", "i", "my", and "you" are used. there is power in unity. don't mind me though... i'm just a crazy conspiracy theorist. i don't want to leave you guys with the problem and not provide you with a solution. that would be irresponsible of me. recognize the negativity but don't dwell in it and make it a reality. our consciousness is far more powerful than any bull shit thrown at us by the negative elite. take responsibility, meditate, look within, and free your mind.
